Introduction:
During my college semester, I had the opportunity to participate in a 4-month internship at a web3 startup working in the Polkadot blockchain ecosystem. In this blog, I will share my experience and summarize the project I worked on during my internship.
Project Overview:
The project I worked on during my internship aimed to solve the problem of yield farming in the dotsama ecosystem, which is a tedious and time-consuming process for users. To reduce the time and effort costs involved with participating in liquidity pools and yield farms in the ecosystem, the startup proposed building a central yield farming dashboard for dotsama. The solution consisted of backend services to aggregate the users’ yield farming positions across the supported protocols, GraphQL API for data querying, user interface for the yield farming dashboard, and an analytics engine to track the interactions happening through the YieldBay’s interface.
My Role:
During my internship, I was a part of the team responsible for developing the user interface for the yield farming dashboard. My primary responsibility was to design and implement the user interface for the dashboard, ensuring a seamless user experience for liquidity providers and yield farmers. Additionally, I also collaborated with the backend team to ensure the user interface was integrated smoothly with the backend services.
Learning Experience:
Working on this project provided me with valuable insights into the blockchain ecosystem and the challenges associated with developing web3 applications. Through my interactions with the team, I learned about the importance of collaboration and communication in the development process. I also had the opportunity to enhance my technical skills, particularly in web development and UI/UX design.
Conclusion:
Overall, my internship experience at the web3 startup was an enriching experience that allowed me to develop my skills and gain practical knowledge in the blockchain ecosystem. Working on the yield farming dashboard project provided me with hands-on experience in developing web3 applications and collaborating with a team to build a complex product.
